Re: Left hand / Right hand?

Problems with feedback are probably a tension issue. If you can focus on the feeling in your hand, whether left or right, then you can feel the tension.

I don't have a degree in bio-mechanics, but I would think that picking involves dexterity, hyper-sensitive feeling in your fingertips, leverage, and experience.

Personally, I'm working on all of the above.

Then again, WTF, it's not like I'm a brainiac...somebody smarter than me probably has the right answer.

Re: Left hand / Right hand?

Nope.

;P

But since you bring it up, I doubt being left handed could POSSIBLY be a hindrence, since its scientific fact that left handed peepz handle multiple tasks with more efficiency and ease than your average right hander like me.

Your left handed digits should be an advantage mate.

im right handed, pick with my right hand and tension with my left... but i can pick the other way too... i can feel the vibrations in the tension wrench and all the feedback with my left hand, but not the pick with my left hand.... :|

Re: Left hand / Right hand?

I'm a leftie. It did take me a little while to find a grip that gave me good feedback. But i think thats the same for alot of people. The part i dont like about my leftyness is it can be awkward with the tension wrench in padlocks. Because I've got to use my thumb for the tension wrench, I've got to get this whole orangutan grip thing going with my fingers wrapped around the lock. Picking big padlocks cramps me up really fast!

Honestly, if shouldn't hinder you at all. Once you get used to it, you'll get used to it. :D

Also, I'm not sure, as it may have been a camera trick, but I swear Bruno was a lefty.

Re: Left hand / Right hand?

I am left handed but I pick with the pick in the right hand. I can pick with the pick in my left too but I prefer it in the right. Sometimes when I have picked for a long time I switch to rest my right hand.

Re: Left hand / Right hand?

i'm mainly right handed but when a euro cylinder is in the door the door handle gets in the way so alot of the time i have to tension with my right and pick with the left, i'm so used to it now i can pick basically the same with both hands.

our friend m0ose however, had to go one step above the rest didnt he.

he went and made a video of him picking a lock with his feet and his mouth.

Lol, I didn't think anyone even saw those! :P I'll put them back up. I set all my old videos to private, save for a couple. Mainly because I didn't want to sit and do annotations for hours. I putt them up right now. :P

Re: Left hand / Right hand?

as far as it being a hindrance... don't think so... but it could be why you hold a pick differently... most lefties seem to hold pencils and other things differently to me... so when people say 'like a pencil' that could be different between people... (all I can think of, sorry)
