Re: Homemade credit card picking set

Looks like a nice job on the picks bro. Duct tape would probably give you some strength in making a holder for them. Or like LocksmithArmy suggested, lamination. Also, you might want to consider trying to make some TW that are flat. You obviously have some skills. I'm not criticizing but the set would be more flush if they were made that way. It would surely be easier on the butt.... LMAO.....The wrenches like they are might be a pain in the ass!!! Pun intented....... Keep up the good work dude.

You should search Locksmitharmy's posts for a picture of his laminated holder. It was quite the clever idea. But don't use sticky lamination plastic sheet, you gotta use heat lamination.

bro those were heat lamination... we has a tiny heat laminator that laminated buisness cards... we use it for out military drivers lisence.

Yeah, I know yours were heat lamination... but when I've suggested the idea to others after seeing your example, they often say "gee I have these sticky lamination sheets..." Just nipping it in the bud.

Wish I could help you with that dude. But I dont make a whole lot of stuff. All the TWs I've made have not been flat (they were not meant for a wallet set)....But I know someone around here knows how.

Re: Homemade credit card picking set

Heat spot to bend until bright orange, then bend, preferably still in flame and then quickly quench in ice water. As long as you got the temp right it won't be too brittle or too soft. At least that's the theory anyway... every time I try it, I wind up with mushy steel, so I'm judging the color wrong or something when I do it.

Looks like he got it done elbow. I know you just stated the proper way. But I'm thinking that a wiper blade can be bent and hammered flat as long as you go slow. As you know wiper blade material is some strong stuff. I you go slow while hammering it wont heat up and break. Just my input.

Re: Homemade credit card picking set

lol yeah that is exactly what i did. then i heated the metal up and quenched it. then sanded it to look nice :) it only works on large size though. for small you have to heat and bend
