i have a lock that i can not open. i am willing to send it to someone so that they can open it. only thing is if i send it to you and you get it open i want it back. if you can not get it open then you should send it to someone else while informing them of the agreement. i would like to get some help on this lock before i send it. if you would like to get it from me please pm me on youtube . com / thedonofdeath. any help would be great on the forum thanks. EDIT: it is a five pin lock. everytime i get a pin in place and move another the other one falls back down. please do not pm on this site for lock only youtube. thanks you for all your help

Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
I believe these are made by Abus, they make great locks, the laminated ones seem to be easy, but when they put them in these housings, they seem to be alot harder, I have tried to pick these but no real good luck, nothing consistent anyways!
I have been in the souls of many women, but I always end up on the soles of there shoes.
Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
The keyway reminds me of a Master 140. But like kid said the 85/50 stamped on the front makes me think Abus. Either way both would have security pins inside.
Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
yeah i know it has security pins in it. i am usually pretty good with security pins. i don't have a key for it and have no idea what biting it has, which i am sure doesn't help any. thanks for the replies guys
Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
Well its definately made by abus as im sure your aware. It is classed as the same as the Abus 85/50 and they contain mushroom counter pins or from further searching 2 spools and there is also the chance of it having a double locking mechanism, now whether the double locking mechanism could affect picking i dont know.
Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
That looks exactly like an ACE lock of the same size. (ace hardware here in the states) Ace re-brands locks like American as their own.
Whatever the source manufacturer is it took me some time when I was just learning about locks and has spools in it at the very least. It isn't a pushover lock.
Anyway, this is the one I'm talking about.

After looking at your picks and actually using my eyes this time, I agree, it's prolly an Abus.

Try a thin short hook - like one of the euro style picks and light tension. The tension should be thin also, because those keyways are pretty tight.

Also, if you are using TOK tension, make sure your tensin bar is not binding the first pin, I do that a lot.
Re: U-haul No 85/50 help
hey kokomo. yeah i was doing that at first. i have to do top of the key way because i don't have a tension wrench that fits right in the key way they are either to big and get in the way or to small and bind. as posted previously i am finally getting a false set but this is by far the doughiest lock yet.
