Wow great job hints, what kind of machine do you use to make them?

It's a huge milling machine with 2 tables. I think it does 4 axis, but for what I do it is only 3 (up/down with the milling bit, left/right with one table, forward/back with the other).

Its not a sophisticated machine, all my cuts are done by eye, especially the Abloy padlocks where I just know where in relation to the markings on the padlock i can cut.

To be honest, I've tried making 'home made' cutaways with rubbish tools..... its fun yeah, but they are shit Since doing my locks on machine, there's simply no compromise.

i dont think so, because they rotate freely,and my drill holes are almost a 1 mm away from the plug bore.
the drill bit never came into contact with the basket
(i actually preserved the threads and backed the set screw out,so it can be replaced...)
i am stumped...the basket drops freely out until what you see in the pic is exposed,and will come no further...
this is happening with both locks...i just dont get it...
what about wrapping pliers in a soft cloth?

Yeah, try pliers. But brass is soft, so you should be careful. I'm sure with a little bit of a pull should see it free.

ok,hintz...i wrapped the brass in tissue paper and gently gripped the tube with a small set of vise grips.
thanks again for your help...it would have been much more difficult w/o.
