Link doesnt work but the video quality is amazing especially from a phone cam. Next video turn the phone sideways so it can capture full screen. That padlock is an American 3600 which accepts almost all KIK cores like that schlage but I believe its a generic core with a Schlage SC keyway which have all standard pins.

Thanks for the info. I've never seen an American with another company's brand on it. Outside of generics, that is. How common are they? You're right about the pins; all standards plus master wafers, which explains why it opens so easily. Oh, and I had to go vertical for the video, as I had mother way to hold my phone up.

American came up with that series of padlock to keep up with Abus and others that got into selling kik padlocks. To see an American with one is not all that common because they are pricey.
Re: Schlage padlock? With an American body? Raked in 15s? Ye
But why would American release a lock with someone else's brand, though? Why not just stick with putting their own name on it?
Re: Schlage padlock? With an American body? Raked in 15s? Ye
Dude sorry I missed the name on the padlock. Its a schalge KIK padlock. Why would you say its American? Because of the body shape?
Dont see anything from your picture that would hint being American except the body shape which is very common. Once a patent is passed its mark, a lot of lock manufactures will use that design if those locks had a successful sale rate which may very well be the case here.

Yeah. Plus it has the American-esque date code on the back of it. I've never seen another Schlage lock with those features before (maybe I just never looked hard enough).
Re: Schlage padlock? With an American body? Raked in 15s? Ye
Hard to say if I have seen the same but I think I did. Many times when they copy a patent expired lock they copy everything. The date code could mean a completely different date tracking system for schalge tho. Still a very interesting find. Ill check the schalge locks I have a home and ill see what more I can add to this, if I dont forget lol

I have a couple Schlage padlocks like that, one is branded Kryptonite. The newer Schlage padlocks appear to be made by CCL, or at least in the same factory.
