Sorry about my first post, kinda sh*t my pants a little looking at what you found! How did you find hundreds of keys?!?! my guess is a locksmith got rid of bunch of stuff, there is no way one "normal" person would get rid of that much stuff. I hate your luckyness! :D think of how many bump keys those could make...

Happy Halloween!

t' was a locksmiths brass recycling bin, that had been dumped into a pallet size bin full of odd scrap brass),but it was mixed in with tons of scrap brass,so i was digging for over an hr....(i can look forward to this once every 3 months,,the keys are from when custies want "keyed alike" locks,so they cut blanks and toss the originals...
along with all the other drilled, obsolete, obscure, nipped, old, odd, unwanted by customer...the list goes on....
i think my favourite of the treasures were ™best mortice cylinder, for static picking practice,
and the brass plug follower.

Brass recycling? Doesn't it get sent to the scrap yard up in Canada? Stealing from one man's scraps around here could get you shot. I mean, that's like stealing from his wallet here. :P

uhhh yes, it wasnt free....i paid by the LB...i wasnt stealing..the guy at the recycling depo gave me full permission to dig as deep as i had to to get what i was after.
i think you misunderstand...the locksmiths' brass goes to the depo, where it is dumped in with all other forms of scrap brass. at the depo, you can buy or sell metals,ie:brass, copper, lead, aluminum, stainless ect.
the guy was super cool and i got an excellent price, but thats beside the point.
