Master Lock - Deadbolt suprise

I purchased this Master Lock deadbolt from the local Hardware Hank for $11.99. I was thinking it was going to be a easy pick, but not so (i'm a noob so it would be easy for many of you). I was getting stuck trying to pick it, I never thought it would have spool pins. Once I found that out it became easier to pick.

Are deadbolts in the US becoming better?
