Does anyone know where I can find Z-Bars for the series 1 83's? I have looked everywhere with no luck. I can find the s2 ones but, that is it.

I have 20 locks without them that I would like to put them in. I currently have 2 and have thought about just trying my hand at making some but, buying them would be more convenient.

Or does anyone know what the difference between the s1 and s2 ones are? Can the s2 be modified to work in a s1 83? all the information I have found just simply states that the s2 Z-Bar won't work with a s1 83 but, nothing on why.

Check out the Abus spares catalog. They should be in there. I'd imagine you could get in touch with Abus and they's ship some to you.

The S1 z-bars will not fit the S2. They are a completely different shape. The S1 z-bars have a red mark on them while the S2 versions have a black mark. I wouldn't recommend modifying them as I think they'd prove to be much weaker, but saying that, I don't know anyone that's tried. I guess you could ask Abus for some spares as well, and mess around with them

Gordon had a US 83, and found no z-bar in it. I know he'd be interested in a couple if you order any.
