Piotr:
One further idea:
On page one you posted a video showing an add-on to the head of the key. Is it possible the round two pronged thingy slides over the head of the make-up key? Note that the prongs are also the same size as the keyway, such that after the key is finished with all bits added, these two prongs would engage the top of the keyway once they slide over at right angles.

Added:
I am now certain that the two pronged key with the large round head does fit over the top of the make up, square headed key. Imagine it sliding over at a 90 degree angle. The inside of the prongs are squared off to fit the square groove, and the bottom of the prongs fit the keyway in line with the bitting that has been added.

I think you got it there escher7... the Question Mark tool is a rotation tool and the picks/disc manipulators pass through it. The laser would then clamp to it somehow.

I would be interested to know, from someone who knows the Protec better than I do, why the pick/probe has to be tilted at some point as in the prototype video.

My guess is to get it past the spacer discs and don't forget the 2 different cut radii...

Yes, I agree. Excellent deduction.

It is pretty clear, now that we have established the use of all the devices in the Multipick package, that a purpose built tool exists for the Protec and maybe the Protec 2. Someone paid a fair buck to tool up and manufacture a professional version of the prototype seen on the early video.
Now someone needs to convince Multipick or the owner to lend a sample to an advanced lockpick to test it. It would be good for sales if it was demonstrated to work well in a realistic scenario.
