Spin key.JPG

Spin key(bump key)
Metal rod with flutes ground in it.
Like the lands and grooves of a gun barrel.
Put in a drill motor and tension like before.
Spin forward, spin backwards until open.
And if that doesn't work switch to the drill bit.

Yea.......Ha Ha nice drawing. :D

Remember that the Gerda Titan is a Polish lock. The thieves would be more familiar with that lock. It does have a fairly wide keyway - about like a thin ball point pen. The plug is turned by a notch at the tip of the key. Make a tensioner that can reach in there and hold the tab that the notch fits into, and picking it should not be too bad. Don't think it has any security pins.

I've heard you can impression it easily

you can also open it by self impressioning using aluminium foil and a special prepared blank or used key

I never tested it before cause I don't have this lock

a decoder is sold for this type of lock

Thank you for uploading this link - watched with great interest

the barrel - core inserts from front l@@ks like - no rim on barrel - I can see just a flat barrel - possible shimming attack may be possible from front

if chrome cover plate could be pulled free & say could as this l@@ks to slot over the lock - is this fixed it must be - just a thought after watching this

Bill talks about the ball bearing - rod in centre of key way being anti drill device - think that's correct ? given the cam at the back & location to locking bolt

I can see away passed the lock - this is attack on the lever- bolt works directly as the cam is sat in the knotches - this will need bending out of way

threw a hole in door and locks casing - point & position unknown -

Poland no - love to see this picking attempt using a shim - if possible one pin at a time just to rule this out

thanks hope to see it picked

Foil impression, great idea, the videos really help a lot,
foil with some plasticine under to support foil while impressioning,
no need to pick three times that way

the best I could think of was a coil spring screwed onto a small caliber gun cleaning brush chucked in a reversible drill
coil spring to go over the center pin and whip around while wire brush whips pins that are not at the depth of the center post.

there do not appear to be much difference between the pins in length,

I think rick got to play with one a while back & stated he had damn near set all pins 4 rows x 4 - but did not have the time to investigate it further with a dril

type device rai - the problem is clear with this and I quote " the best lock in the world " the lock is only as good as the lock mechanism behind and is clearly

20mm wider than the protruding lock 50mm - so we have 10mm either side to play with bearing in mind the whole size for a wire attack or bypass

my advice they should have spent 20 years and a day - not just the 20 years claimed - reduce the spring loaded mechanism to 50mm not 70mm -this will cover

the flaw - of cause the hard plate is some - but not complete protection

just my 10p worth !

I see two problems. There are security pins and there are other pins not in line with the main series that are depressed with the round part of the key.
