Sorry if its a bit of topic , but.....

If you find a 20p in the uk without a date on the back ! then that coin is worth 50 pound, coin collectors are going mad for them..

The mint make the money round our way and put around 30000 coins in circulation without a date on !!!!!
20p with out a date on is fetching over fifty pound a coin on ebay (LOL)

ive checked all mine and still do when i get change back from the shops ! no luck my way yet

So, sorry mate, but you don't have my vote ;)

Oh, PLEASE!

Ummm? God isn't really connected to our economy if he was I don't think he would let it get this bad. But I don't know, I am really not religious at all, I just don't think you understand what they are trying to do to us all in the United States, you guys in the UK I thought would understand more, your government took the right from you guys to carry knives right? Well if the President of the U.S. had his way we would all lose our guns, our cars, electricity, wood, paper, etc. we will all live in camps. I really like you Uk guys so don't get me wrong, we just don't back down to things like this very easily.

I'm not from the UK, I'm from the Netherlands :)
But we've already been there. Many things have been forbidden already and lots of things have changed (definitely not all for the better).
Most of those things had a much bigger impact than a phrase on a coin will ever have, so for me that phrase is not a big deal. No offense meant because it might be for you ;)

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not happy with the way the US government is doing things, but a phrase referring to "God", in which I do not believe he or she exists, is better dropped in my opinion. Like I said, we have the same phrase (in Dutch) on our coins (or had before the Euro) but I had the same feeling about it as well, even though it was there for several hundred years already....

But before this goes of on the wrong foot, keep in mind that I'm not a native US/UK speaker so I might have slight problems expressing myself on certain subjects.
And even if I do not have the same opinion on a certain subject than you have, it's nothing personal. You're a top guy ;)

Oh, I made a mistake!!! I guess the Netherlands isn't the UK, I am not offended, and I hope I haven't offended anybody else, and your english translated is perfect, we all understand what you are saying. I am a little off base at times and some people think I read into things too much and when it comes to our rights and our government, people think I am a radical, I just hate to lose what so many people fought for, my grandpa who is now gone was in the Korean war, I have had family in desert storm, have known people who had relatives lost in the 9/11 attacks, all these people who went to war for our country are starting to feel that it was for no reason, there are things here that people have died defending that we have now lost. It's a shame. But now I am done ranting!!

l0ckp1cker, I know it's probably hard for you to understand where many of us of coming from. Even those of us Americans who arent religious find this phrase an important cornerstone of our society. It's kinda hard to explain. Like if they take God out of everything, we literally cannot say anymore that we have a "God given right" to this or that. Just for one example our God given right to protect ourselves and our families by having the God given right to own a gun or knife. Although our founding fathers believed in a seperation of church and state, many of our laws and values were based on "God given rights".

Lockpicker, you express yourself very well, so do not fear. As for political discussions, I thought long and hard about it before I decided to allow these topics on Keypicking.

But I believe in freedom of speech - pro and con. And as long as people can discuss things in a civil manner, we won't have a problem. I enjoy discussing things with folks from other parts of the world as it gives me a better perspective on life in general. Not all of us will agree on everything, but ultimately, our mutual interest in locksport is what brings us all together on this forum.

I hope too that nothing has been taken personally. We are never going to all agree. But we can all still be friends. That is the very spirit of America. Things are very different from region to region within our own country. I can only imagine how different things are from country to country lol. Us Americans were rebels from the start!!
