I'm sorry to everyone who reads this and takes offence to this, but I would rather have Obama than McCain by any means. One thing that McCain has done that's pissed me off, is that 100%, not an exaggeration, of his ads were FALSE attack ads in my state. That just pissed me right the hell off. Then I have the RNC and the gun associations calling me every 5 mins with their bullshit lies. If anyone wants me to explain why I like Obama better than McCain, feel free to ask for the actual issues.

I agree with you, I respect McCain's service, and that Obama started out poor and worked up to getting where he is today.

Do you honestly think that once all the social programs, refunds (even for people that don't pay taxes), bailout for Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae, economic stimulus packages, health insurance for all, etc., get factored in, that the Democrats, in control of both the House & Senate and with a socialist President - do you think they'll stop at $250K?

Goddamn right I'm selfish. Why should I have to give up more of my cash to support some scab poverty pimp & welfare queen who were allowed to obtain mortgages for homes they couldn't afford? There was no way that those banks should have made those kinds of loans - yet under pressure from the Clinton administration - they were "encouraged" to ease up on the lending standards so more po' folk could get affordable housing - while the gov't guranteed those loans.

Now I'm not an economics professor, (but I do own my own business) so it doesn't make sense to lend money to someone that has no credit, no means of support - or collateral.

Try this experiment next time you are out and about. Go to the scummiest part of town - find some derelict wino looking for a handout - and give him your credit card, wallet, $500 cash, gold bullion, etc., and then tell him you'll be back next month expecting your money back including 3% interest.

You wanna bet he's not going to show? Probably not.

My point is that the less gov't we have the better off we are to pursue our own interests and fail or succeed according to our abilities.

Personally, I love my country - but I sure as hell don't trust my gov't., let alone some psycho babbling PC, Harvard law professor who has NEVER HAD A REAL JOB.

Don't get the wrong idea, I don't like McCain, either. He's a Democrat-Lite. He caucused with the Dems numerous times - selling out the Repub party. But I do think he's stronger on defense than the new Fearless Leader.

It was a decision I made weighing the pros and cons - do I wear my old skivvies with old crusty skidmarks (McCain) that I can flake off before putting them back on - or do I wear the new ones with creamy smooth brown turds (Obama) - like melted Reeses peanut butter cups?

I went with the old skivvies that were aged to perfection, instead. It's just a matter of my own personal taste.

But let me get back to something you said in your previous post about moving to Canada. I'm quite sure Canada is a beautiful country with fine people - so it's not like you are sacrificing anything - let alone achieving Nirvana.

But let me clue you in on something, Jingles. Canada is a big country. Consequently they have a gov't there. Where there's a gov't, there are politicians. Politicians are liars and thieves - no matter what party or country.

I don't know everything, but I can kick my classmates a$$ in debates. I'm prolly the only one in my class who watches a little CNN from time to time. I know for almost certain that the tax hikes will go down to 200, 150, 50, 20, so screw it! Just get down to 20,000 and get over with it. I'll agree with Hallis on this one when it comes to taxes. But honestly, I have a hunch that it may have been all for the votes. Sure I doubt he'll stop at 250k, but maybe he won't even start at all. Honestly, if I was in his spot, surrounded by liars, why not lie to the masses not yet heard from? Sure it's just one view, but it was a smart move, even if he doesn't pull through.

McCain wouldn't have gotten my vote if I could have voted. The only reason I say this is because I felt he didn't have the right direction, and with his VP jumping on the Bush Doctrine, it didn't impress me one bit either. Sure I agree with protecting America and fighting terrorism, but the Bush Doctrine is a bunch of bullshit wrapped up in more shit from cows that we made eat their own shit. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm just about sick of leaders rich in oil and unwilling to change.

Sure, neither of them were really that great of a choice, but weighing the odds, I'd rather support Obama. Plus, on a side note. I know what it's like to be poor. It sucks balls. However, we got out of it, on our own, minus the 12k a year in Social Security my dad got for getting hurt. Even against the odds, my mom played the bills right, and my Dad, after many years, was finally able to handle work again. I know it sucks to be broke, but honestly, we got through it, and even though my family isn't every family, but it can be done. Four people on 12k a year for many years, and then five people on 12k after that. It isn't fun, but we got through, without extra help from the Gov. My family deserved that money, it was enough to get by. That's all anyone needs. Which, brings me to my point. If Obama does do what he says, then I just hope it's not extravagant, and it's not to the wrong people. Some people don't deserve help from other when they can easily help themselves.
