FTA TV?

Couldn't find a good section for this but figured here is as good as any.

Is anyone familiar with Free To Air(FTA) TV?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-to-air

It looks really interesting and I just aquired a box, that's the only reason I came accross this is someone was getting rid of the box because they are retruning stateside so I looked up info about it online and apparently it is meant for free to air anywhere in the world with the proper dish. Just something of interest I thought you guys might like and/or know.
