Hello y'all,

i just wanted to introduce myself to you all, i have recently found an interest in lockpicking, and thus far have only managed to pick my clear lock i was able to get from a bundle that came with a few lockpicks. ive been having trouble single-pin picking any other lock, and although i have raked a non-clear lock, i dont consider this a worthy achievement.

I signed up to this forums in hope to meet some nice people who i can learn and benefit from, and hopefully during my journey towards becoming more experienced, i would be able to return the favor, and build some long term relationships with other enthusiasts!

Welcome Foresky! What other locks have you been trying to pick?

Master padlocks are usually a great starter lock to start getting the feel for SPP.

Man so nice and willing to help already, you could never understand how much this means.

The locks i have been trying to pick do not seem to be branded, one is small and says "hardened" on it, and the other is rusted and is just silver. Aside from this, i have tried picking my back door, no success thus far.

The one i succeeded with is this little vault thing where you store money, it only has about 2 pins and i couldnt SPP that, but i could rake it.

Im going out tommorow to pick up some locks.

With a Master, apply heavy tension and find the binding pin first. Then move on to the next etc. I suggest Master first because we know it won't have any security pins. Some of the other inexpensive padlocks like Brinks are somewhat decent locks and are a fun pick when you start learning how to pick spools.

Also, don't get discouraged. Keep reading posts here, ask questions and keep practicing. There will come a point where it just clicks.

Okay, i will see if i can find and pick up a few masters tomorrow. I will not be discouraged. I am looking forward to the point where it just clicks, what an amazing feeling.
