Hello from another New Zealander

Hi my name is Tipene (aka Steve) and I'm from the beach side City of Tauranga, New Zealand. I am a 55 year old Software Developer.

I've only been into Lock sport since April of this year. Michael Maynard (who recently joined this forum) is a friend of mine and the only other Lock Sporter I know in New Zealand. He's vastly more experienced than I and has provided me with invaluable assistance over the last few months.

I like the variety Lock sport provides. Aside from learning to pick pin tumbler locks I also dabble in pick making and have just started making my own pins and challenge locks.

I'm looking forward to learning from others on this forum and sharing my own learning experiences.

Cheers
Tipene

Re: Hello from another New Zealander

Welcome! I'm also fairly new to lock sport. I picked it up around new year's one year ago when I saw a video about how a pin tumbler lock works and decided to try to pick a padlock with paperclips. I've tried to get a friend of mine interested too, but he isn't biting :).

I agree! Very few things have captivated me enough to stick with it.
In fact I can't think of much that I've ever done for longer than a year
or two at best. I've been at locks for something like 8 or 10 yrs. now.

A big welcome to you Steve. I'm Mike. I'm sure you'll love it here. I do!
