Hello for CO

Hello everyone from another person from colorful Colorado. My name is Adam and I have a confession to make, I'm a lousy picker. Ok I've never picked a lock in my life but the skill always fascinated me and I only have southord C-rake, short hook and a tension wrench to see if I like picking and seeing if I can do it.

I have been able to rake open a couple master locks I've lost the keys to and an old kwikset dead bolt I had laying around, these past 2 weeks since I've gotten the few tools I have, so nothing too special. Eventually i would like to get the Sparrow Night School tuxedo + edition kit. But I have a feeling I'll most likely be making my own picks, since I'm kinda handy and I got friends that can get me wiper blade inserts

I found this forum through bosnianbills youtube channel and after reading through some of the threads on here, I figured this will be the best place to get some more information. Other then that I'm glad to be here and I look forward seeing you all on the boards.

Re: Hello for CO

welcome
macgng; it's completely unnecessary to have ~15$ in keys for a 50¢ lock ... but we all do it anyway :P

Great to meet you Adam. I'm Mike. Glad you're here!!

An absolutely wonderful group of folks around here.
Insanely wonderful place to learn & to pass on knowledge.
There's no way in hell I'd enjoy this hobby as I do without this place.

Re: Hello for CO

Thanks guys for the welcomes. This site might get me in trouble I ended up ordering a PXS-14 - Beginners Lock Pick Set from lockpickshop after reading a few guy's reviews and it seems that is the most common beginner's set. The Sparrow set I mentioned before might be the next one if I wear out the southord or if I break it while learning.

Re: Hello for CO

Welcome! It's about time another Coloradoan showed up... LOL! After learning more about picking, I have started making 99% of my own picks and am quite happy. PM me, and if you're close enough, I can share some materials for picks and some locks as far as that goes. Cheers!
