Hi

Hi folks!

Great forum. I look forward to participating.. I worked at a college for several years as a public safety officer. The campus locksmith needed help and, as he was attached to our department, I was volunteered. I loved it. Worked on and off as his assistant for a few years and when he passed away I took over for a couple of years in addition to my regular duties. I stumbled through it and did enjoy it.
A bit over a year ago I lost my job and I'm now a school bus driver. I'm seriously thinking of starting a side business as a residential locksmith. Im considering taking a correspondence course for some extra trying as I mostly worked with Best locks.
Right now I'm working on manipulating an old Sentry safe a neighbor has.. Been reading some of the posts in that regard.... They've been real helpful.!

Look forward to chatting :sfic:

Re: Hi

Welcome.

As for a correspondence course, look on eBay. You can usually buy someone else's old course book for about $25. WAY cheaper than ordering the course from the company. Also, reading the sticky posts on this forum made by experienced members and locksmiths, and learning to do those tasks as you read them, can teach you a lot of the stuff you'd find in such a course, plus a few things you won't find there.
