Hello! Also: My EDC Picks

I've been hanging out for while over on reddit's /r/lockpicking where i'm known as /u/emeraldreactor. I was talking with MBI a few days ago and complaining about how basically every day a redditor who doesn't know anything about locks will show up in /r/lockpicking and say something like "i don't have any tools or experience, but i really need to get this lock picked in the next half hour" and he suggested that i maybe come hang out here for a more intelligent level of conversation.

I thought a good way to introduce myself here would be to share a picture of my EDC picks. I recently shared a version of this pic over on reddit and the fact that i mosaic'd out my key bittings actually infuriated someone to the point that he shouted at me for not giving a copy of my front door key to the whole internet. MBI assures me that you guys are a bit more mature over here, so i'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Click on the picture to go to the imgur page where there's a full description of all the individual items.

Sorry about that, i didn't mean to set the bar so high. To be fair, i'm only expecting you to be more intelligent than someone who thinks that drilling a lock with anti-drill pins and plates is as easy an attack as just using the key, so it should be pretty easy.

What is the game board you have there?

The code is hidden in the tumblers. One position opens the lock, another position opens one of these doors...

That would be the Dungeons & Dragons edition of Clue, because i was using d20s to pick locks long before i was doing it in real life.

Cool. I thought it was from one of those older starter box sets they sold to ease the transition into pen and paper.

To up the ante on my nerd cred: since picking is easy in Skyrim something fun to do is line up a couple dozen locks in order of difficulty, have several in each of five groups from trivial to havn't-picked-yet. When you want to pop a lock ingame, first you must do it to a real one of associated difficulty.

Out of the ones there, i like the mini bogotas better. The bigger ones come from this set: http://www.survivalcorner.com/titanium-lock-pick-set/ and they're fine, but they really aren't as nice as the real ones. That's probably why i keep them in my wallet where i never use them instead of in my full tool roll.
