Reassembling yale IC help

There was a little mishap with one of my yale padlocks a while ago and I'm just now getting around to putting it back together. I removed the core to show someone the pins and, while they fiddled with the main part, they managed to disassemble the whole thing. I fiddled with it for a while and whereas I can get the ball bearings both in, the shackle doesn't want to close. Here are all the parts (spring is inside):

And here is the cam:

One side is cut deeper than the other, but I tried putting it in both ways and the shackle doesn't want to depress fully. Is there some trick to getting these bloody things back together?

Not sure if this will help
but I found you have to put the shackle in first,
then drop the bearings inside and push one to each side.
If they wont stay, ya may need a touch of grease to hold them in place (or a damn steady hand).
Look at the longest part on the shackle, the part ya never really see. It’s not cutaway and so the shackle needs to go in first.

That piece in the second photo should then fit nicely.
Drop it in so the cutaway parts line up with bearings.
Putting it in straight may not work (ya might need to turn it left or right so it seats correctly).

Not sure which way round it goes, tho, you’ll have to try both.
I would say the biggest cutaway side should go on the left but thats just a guess.
Key opens to the right yeah.
Then shove the core in and open the shackle to screw to all back together.

Any good?

Nice one! I was overcomplicating things. Put in the spring + shackle, kept it pressed in, dropped both bearings in and pushed them to either side then dropped the cam in. Once the core was in again I could lock/unlock it as normal and I got it reassembled properly. Just a matter of getting the cam the right way around. Cheers phat :D

Sledgehammer? LOL!
Erm, yeah, as I said, I have one that’s real easy, the other’s a right pain.

It’s finding the first pin. Once ya have the first pin the others all click the same.
The first pin doesn’t feel like it’s clicking in place.
Very deceptive. If ya get where i’m coming from?..

See if I can do a vid...

That's easy, just like repinning any cylinder except you have to hold the sidebar in when you slide the plug into place. But yeah it's kinda funny that I can repin shit and I couldn't figure out the bloody padlock lol.
