I played around with some 5200's and realized they both have different letters on the back. Does anybody know what these letters stand for?

I am fairly new to all this, but doing a little research, i believe they are distributors for some of the parts made on the internal of the locks. Other than that, i couldnt find anything. Hope I am right..

FAIL! & FAIL again!

Dates of Mfg: July 1999 and Sept 1983 respectively.

How do I know this? Because I'm that freaking good, that's why.

If you want to be all cool and sophisticated, be sure to download the 2007 American Lock Service Manual here: http://www.americanlock.com/pad.html

I haven't seen a newer manual, but let's face it, things probably haven't changed that much.
