Nah a hi sec would probably just make my roommates think I'm even more crazy, I already grumble profanities at my locks till they open

I have an American A1100 and I've played with 2 others. A couple pieces of advice: They like to use long pins in the first chamber, a gem or long hook helps with that but it can be done with a short hook. Also mine have all had very strong cam springs, I can't even tell you how many times I'd picked it before I realized it was picked. A screwdriver works pretty well to finish turning it, none of my tension wrenches would ever be able to open it without seriously bending.

I'm switching to using a vise after picking everything freehand for the longest time and it's like starting back at square 1. Even my Kwiksets are beating me up in the vise. Pick something harder that a Kwik in a vise and you'll be better than me
Nah, not from Boston, I live about an hour west.
