Nice. I hate gutting euro profiles... but the tool you have in that video for holding the pins in place seems like it'll do the job if you thinned down the width.

The ball bearing might be part of a construction key mechanism or just reduces wear on the key and pins.

My tool idea was pretty good, but it practice it's not so great, I've had to file it down so much that now it doesn't really have the strength to clamp to the lock.

Your right about the ball bearing. It looks like it's not a security feature, it simply helps the plug turn smoothly.
