SCHLAGE SECUREKEY

Only one search result turned up for "Schlage SecureKey". This is probably old news, but
any comments on this method or tips/warnings for disassembly would be appreciated.

Re: Oldfast Tele

<hijack thread>

Good video. I'm actually working on a technique for opening these locks and have possibly stumbled on a reliable and easy way to defeat them. The only problem is my test sample thus far has been very small.

I'm waiting to mention anything until I've tried it a bit more. I believe it could be an important find.

Many people have many different techniques for many different locks, but often times there's no universal technique for every cylinder of a particular make. This is what I think I may have found, as it seems to exploit the operating principles of the lock.

ANYWAY...

Good vid. Keep 'em coming. Now to return that piece o' shit to Home Depot.

Re: Oldfast tele

A univeral technique for this lock seems very feasible actually. I found myself brainstorming on the idea too. Don't know if I'll be able to stick with it right now though- I seem to be pulled in a thousand different directions...just too many locks to be had! Keep us up to date.....you can highjack my thread with a breakthrough like that anytime:)

Re: Oldfast tele

Appreciate the encouragement guys! I'll continue to post a vid here and there
until I'm current with my channel. I've only a total of 12 vids right now.

And thank you to all for posting their vids -I learn SO much from them.

Also, PLEASE let me know if I'm doing/saying something incorrectly, or if there's a better way.
Criticism is the only way I can learn and grow. Admittedly, I've quite an ego, but I'll manage
to swallow it just long enough to learn something new LOL. So let me know what ya think!

Re: Oldfast tele

And the award for best choreography in a lock picking video goes to...

That was cool, man. Never seen anything like that before. You must pick those brinks locks in your sleep.

That largest brinks was the second lock I ever picked. I raked that thing so much the keypins are all wore down and you have to pull the key out slightly to work anymore. It was my first introduction to spool pins and single pin picking. I would rake it out once into a big false set, and then set the front pin with a hook. Before then I had only ever raked a lock out. Most of the locks I had then had spool pins in them and so I learned how to single pin pick straight pins a while AFTER securities.

I've always wanted one of those 71/40's with the plastic body ever since I saw a video of Bruno2260 picking one. I don't see them around much anymore. I believe they may have been replaced with the aluminum body lock-out locks that go by the same call number(i think). A guy came into the shop with one of those keys once, I took one look at the warding and handed it back to him.

Those 532's are fun to pick but they are a little different. Brass master 575's pick in much the same way. If you don't have one they usually have em at menards for cheap. I also have a Master the same size as the 532 but has an american style trap door in the bottom with a regular M1 keyway and no securities. Is anyone else familiar with this or know the number the lock goes by?

Anyway, Good vids!

Re: Oldfast tele

I actually find it easier to pick the brinks than Master's brass numbers.

Can't remember where I found the 71/40, but it was at some sort of specialty store (a metal place I think). Not real cheap though at around $20. I think your right though, most of them now have an aluminum body. Although there's alot of wards on this, they pose no problem since none of them cross into the center of the keyway (maybe someone could help me out w/ proper terminology- paracentric?). So ya still have a straight shot from the bottom of the keyway to the pins.

I do have Master's 570 and 575, but have'nt taken much time with them yet. The Master you mentioned with the trap door doesn't ring a bell. I'm sure someone will know though.
