More accurately, those would be called milled pins. There also exists pins with the groove closed off both at the top and bottom, they go by the name of micro milled pins.

ARX is way more complicated than just the security features on the pins It's a common misconception that the special features = ARX, but this is false. If you want all the details, check out the "MEDECO-Binder-1.pdf" document floating around the net.

Thanks safety0ff. All the articles I have read are calling the milled pins ARX pins, so I just recycled the term. I'll have to track down the that pdf and become more accurately informed.

Success! Page 14 has the pins. Looks as though they are just going to do away with their 10 series 'standard pins' and only use their milled and mico grove pins.

Also, safetyOff is 100% correct about the fix really being "milled pins" rather than ARX. The terminology on my page is wrong; I'll fix it tomorrow (at work currently). I recently discovered this little discrepancy when I called up Medeco looking for the milled pin part numbers. It turns out that real ARX system pins are "DoD-restricted" which I found strange. The milled pins seem to be mixed into the standard line-up and available right now though. I'll let you folks know when I find those part numbers. I have always been fairly loose with my language when it came ARX (going so far as to call milled Original pins "ARX") but I suppose its time to straighten it up.

Another Medeco picked on cam! The first 1:30 is the picking. After that, its just very ugly disassembling. I have picked this thing many times but every time I turned on the camera I would get stage fright or something and the pins would refuse to set. So, as you can see from my fumbling hands, I was quite excited to finally catch it on film. I hope you guys enjoy anyway.

Thanks Lew! I still have a long way to go. I had a few hours behind that lock before I felt good enough to even try it on camera and even then it took several attempts to get it right.

MSL's can be a real pain in the ass sometimes, most of them tend to have an erratic bitting and plus it dosen't help that the lock gives hardly no feedback.
