Another safety lockout core in my 930 this time keyed up with serrations all the way around except for keypin number 6 which is a number 2 cut. Driver #1 is a serrated spool and the rest of the drivers are serrated American drivers.

It's my second. It makes getting past the false grooves in pins easier. Alot easier, but no one makes it look as simple as JK. He has alot of practice. The problem with the two I have made is the music string found the groove well, but wasn't stiff enough for really acurate rotating. Then with the fish hook it isn't as easy to find the groove with the larger diameter, but better for rotating once you hook in. Good marking helps. It's definately worth a try especially since you are doing it with a short hook already. Groove grabbing isn't as tough as that, but just like any other picking it takes getting used to.

Re: Jruther2's Lockpicking Vids

here's what i have done since yesterday...just working on getting the wire straightened out properly, and flattening the grabber end so it will find the grooves nicely..
this is just the beginning....by the end i will have a working 'coder...lets hope we are all still young enough to see...

Looking really good man. Nice job!

Here's what I have so far. Technically it works. The diameter of the hook is slightly too big so I had to file it to get a good fit. I'm just trying to get a feel for using it now. Most of my problems are just operator errors.

I know its rough but it will have to do for now. I have already spent enough time in the basement that I think my wife is considering divorce  .

Yeah...this is definitely a crawl before you walk endeavor. I'm really having to change the way I go about picking a Medeco with this thing. My usual method employs fairly heavy tension after I set the pins to the shear line so that when I'm rotating the pins that need it, I don't accidentally knock the correctly oriented ones out of alignment due to the fact that I use somewhat of a violent raking action to rotate the ones that need it (the properly oriented ones tend to stay as is when doing this as the teeth on the sidebar are engaged with the keypin's groove). With this tool, from what I understand, I need to let up on my tension to the absolute minimum amount needed to keep the pins set to shear so the key pins can rotate more freely using a little wire as opposed to the tip of my hook. Consequently, when I rotate a pin I have the tendency to let up too much on my tension and drop a pin or two...and round and round I go.

I'm anxious to see if you have a similar experience. Please keep me updated on your progress using your 'coder. I would really like to keep a conversation going on our experience as we learn to use this tool.

Thanks for all your input so far bro, I really appreciate it!
