Can the forum be viewed with a light background?

Is there a way to change my (forum view) background colour from black to white?
A lot of forums have a simple check_that_box option, but I can't find anything in the user settings.
Thanks in advance.

There is no other theme other than the one you are currently seeing. There are currently no plans to add any additional themes.

Welcome to The Dark Side. Can you guess how it got the nickname? :-)

Since the stylesheet is being downloaded and parsed by your browser, and you’re ultimately (software-depending) in control of your local browser (aka ‘user agent’, aka ‘client’) you can override the CSS you receive using a variety of means. It’s been ages since I did this regularly (back when I used reddit frequently I would have my own reddit stylesheets) but your two options generally come down to:

1. editing your browser’s local stylesheet
2. using a plugin with varying features to effectively do this [1] for you

Respectively, check out:

1. http://brugbart.com/custom-style-sheets
2. [chrome plugin] https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... pgmdaleoha

aeporia, thank you very much for your suggestion. it helped me hide some annoying headers in a couple sites I only want to see the content...

unfortunately I was not able to find the custom css folder for chrome in w7 described in the 1 guide you linked. is the guide outdated or am I bad at searching?
anyway, I'm using the second method for now.

cheers :)

Also one way is if you invert the colors. Not ideal by any means but on a mac it is really fast. command+option+control+8. thought Id throw my 2 cents in.

No worries mate.

I did some more looking into modifying Chrome’s user stylesheet — it appears Google has made this a PITA since v33. I think you’re right that the first link is now outdated; using a plugin seems to be the best method currently. :/
