Noticed the new every day carry pick sets from Peterson on their website. Anyone have any experience or comments on this product?

Euro profile stainless, plastic handled, short hook, city rake (long ripple? hard to see), diamind, s-rake (double rake), mini knife, and a prybar.

I know several people doing the whole military thing right now. I have never heard of any military exclusive picks. Neither have they. They say nobody uses picks. The engineer says they use their toys, and the intel guy says they either kick down doors or use copper powder 12g rounds. Cav guy says some people do it for fun though.

Marketing maybe? Like Government Steel branding?

There is other new things too like bogotas labeled as BOOGIE 1, 2, and 3. .018 thick slenders should be interesting, another kind of flat wrench that looks good, and a case that looks like the Sparrow's tuxedo.

My experience with Peterson "Government Steel" picks is that they bend too easily and don't spring back like other picks. I would choose Southord, Sparrow and even some cheaper brands over Peterson. I have not examined the Peterson high carbon spring steel line so I can't comment on them. Bottom line for me is that no matter what the pick shape, if the steel is not what I consider resilient enough, then I'll pass.

Have seen them on the web site(thinkpeterson.com).
yep, Seen them...
want them...
don't need them...
must have them...

like the look of the new cases.
Don't like the color of the handles.
Sure that has nothing to do with performance.

I like shiny things, new things.
Sad fact is that I have too many pick sets and don't use half the picks that are in them now.

Think I'll wait till I master the hook pick before buying more.

Hah, that's how I feel about everything right now. Landed some fantastic school monies so suddenly I am not living on savings and hope anymore. I am very interested in the .018. All I use 95% of the time is just three short hooks of varying dimensions, using whichever barely fits comfortably. Adding another step would be nice.
