What lockpicks brands do you use and why give us a review

There are several brands out on the market which ones are worth the outrageous price.
1. Peterson
2. HPC
3. Pro-loc
4. Storm (I think LSA uses these)
5. Southern steel
6. SOUTHORD
7. Falle safe
And several others post links video testimonials etc letting use know what and why u use it
I personally use petterson they work great in narrow keyways that my Hpc SOUTHORD and proloc s or to wide for I own the others mainly as cheap backups.
Maybe you like an assortment like "peerson gem is my favorite hook, southord max hold up really well, dcaps work great on best sfic and medecos "etc let us know

Re: What lockpicks brands do you use and why give us a revie

This should be a interesting thread. :hbg: I'm still green, but I have used some home brew picks (hacksaw blade, wiper insert), Southord mpxs-14 set, and just recently got a few Peterson picks. The Southords were a big improvement over my early homebrew picks and time will tell how the Petersons compare to the Southords.

My initial impression is that the Peterson handles are more comfortable and give better control over the pick. I need to spend more time in the lock with my Peterson picks before I can really comment on their performance/value of the government steel. I did a video yesterday talking about my new Peterson picks and the different handles that came with them. Right now I prefer the blue plastic handle.

My rating so far would be my home brews = ok to good. Southord standard metal handles= good. Peterson=better.
What man has done, man can do.

Innerpicked: The more keys you carry, the more important you look
GWiens2001: Great video! Learned a lot about what fun can be had with a forklift and a chainsaw.

I have some Pro-Lok picks but they're all packed up right now from a recent move. If memory serves though, they've changed a lot over the years. I get the impression they might not even make their own picks and just subcontract them from other manufacturers and then stamp their name on the handle.

My older Pro-Lok picks (circa early 1990s) look like HPC or Majestic picks: carbon steel with a black finish and flat aluminum handle scales riveted on. The case even looks identical to HPC leather cases except for the name stamped in gold on the front. My Pro-Lok picks which are more recent (from around 2002) look identical to SouthOrd stainless picks, except for the name on the handle.

"People dont kill people with giant boulders"
"They will if you take away their assault rifles"
