Re: FPS-7
no experience with that particular make but i do own the southord jacknife. The main hook pick was too big for most euro locks so with a bit of filing it works great. Very handy to have on the keys but does take a bit of getting used too it. All in all its good for emergencies.
Re: FPS-7
Had one, the weak point is Do NOT overtighten the lever as the housing will become round and the lever will not lock down securely. I used a couple of thin brass washers to snug up the lever, just be gentle. The metal version has the same weakness. It does work, though.

I have npt ised this particular jacknife set, however, as long as you rest a finger on the pick shaft, you should be able to aleviate some if not most of the lack of feedback... just my .02

Re: FPS-7
Dont think so
All jack knife's get less feedback (i can be wrong at this one)
but i think this FPS7 is a great Rake'r
Also i removed the Key extractor because you dont need this one to lockpick
i replaced it with a big diamond

Re: FPS-7
i went with the plastic one cause it has 2 tensors... and the smaller tensor is WELL worth it... one day i would like to get an aluminum handle to put mine in... but till then ill use the plastic handle... its lasted over a year or hard use...

what makes the smaller tensor worth it? How does it differ from a home brew one?
Of course i shoulda purchased it by now and found out for myself...
Man, I think i work too much.

Re: FPS-7
lol a home brew on eis fine but ull have to make it to fit in the handle like it does (not hard) but its quite thin and works great for top tension
Re: FPS-7
I have this and the metal one , and personally i prefer the plastic one. I like having the option of the smaller wrench on the plastic one, its lighter in your pocket and has a short hook as standard ( i had to file down the deep hook on the metal one to get a bit more use out of it). I originally bought the metal one for myself and the plastic one for my bro as a gift, but since he couldnt be bothered learning to pick locks i took it back and now get alot more use out of it than the metal one. The plastic one with its lever doesnt suffer the problem of the pick losening during use that the metal does because of its screw based locking mechanism. The metal one does have SLIGHTLY longer picks though.
I likes my locks like I likes my women, loose and easy to manipulate.
