Tublar duplicator-on the cheap

A while back I got to try the Klom model W 747, handheld tubular duplicator.

It looks and works similar to the HPC tool. It features a dial to set the
spacing (cut position) and a dial for the depth. It is designed for standard center, 7 pin tubular configuration only. According to the distributors the tool can handle dead pins and both standard bore and smaller bore (7.5 mm ) center posts dia.

I cut a 7 pin key, using a brass blank, in under five minutes.

Being hand operated, it it definitely not for volume production, but
I think it would be great as a backup cutter for the shop or
in the mobile van- takes little if any bench space.

It comes with a depth gauge and Nylon carry case. At about $69 US, (plus freight/taxes) I think it is a good deal and a good deal cheaper than the HPC model (about $300 if I recall correctly).

Re: Tublar duplicator-on the cheap

have you tried yours on the small bore. I have 3 of them for the 7.8(standard), 7.5 small Bore, and 7.0. Im not aware of any of the knock off that can cut both. You should try it on a small bore and let us know if it works..
