Re: Picking Security Pins

Awesome videos. Thank you s much for posting these. I am barely starting to get into the different types of security pins and as of now they have been defeating me. This really cleared up alot of the questions that I had. One thing though, how are you maintaining such a delicate tension? I have been working on a brinks "high security" padlock for a few days now and I just cannot do it. Im learning how to use top of keyway tension but its still very hard.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Im quite a newbie to picking. A lot of the guys use windscreen wiper inserts with a twist in them so it has a little springiness in the tension wrench. I was and sometimes still am heavy handed on the tension wrench. Some locks ive picked im literally just touching the tension wrench with my finger but then others do need more. It really depends on the lock and its tolerances and what pins you are dealing with.

A lot of trial and error when it comes to picking locks. What works on one may not work on another..........perseverance is the key.

Re: Picking Security Pins

I've seen these vids on YouTube before and I've tried it before and it worked!

Regarding maintaining delicate tension, I agree with the above poster regarding windscreen wiper inserts. I believe that it's the perfect material to use for homemade tension wrenches. They're strong enough to provide tension and prevent too much springs, but they're soft enough for a delicate touch.
