.357 MAGNUM follower/ driver retainer

when i am servicing or refurbishing an American™ lock, and must store the lock in peices,
whilst i A.) search for parts, B.) make a key. C.) use my plug follower on another core,
i push my follower out with a spent .357 magnum cartridge ..
it keeps the drivers put,but the only drawback is it only goes in...not right through.so you just have to remember to push the follower out the FRONT of the shell.

Should work fine for padlocks, domestic cylinders, etc.

Just be careful if you try to use any plug follower on a cylinder that's oversized, because if there are master pins still in the bible, they can come down and fall out.
Restacking master pins without knowing the pinning is not something you want to try.

Nice. I have a rifle cartridge I use. I took out the bullet and cut off the base with a tubing cutter. Don't rememmber the caliber. I think 8mm.You could cut the bases off a few and sloder them together if you want a longer one that goes all the way through.
