Bottom pin on no name tubular won't budge...

I can post a picture if you want, but the description should suffice: it's a generic tubular with a notch at the top, like most, and seven pins spaced evenly around it (the 12 'o' clock position is empty of course). I can set all the pins except the bottom pin, which won't budge whether tension is applied or not. Anyone familiar with this situation?

If it would help to post a picture or a video let me know.

Re: Bottom pin on no name tubular won't budge...

In some cheap tubular locks the 4th pin is strange: the bottom chamber is not drilled and in the top chamber there's only the top pin. You don't need to pick it to start turning the lock. When you reach the next chamber it becomes normal, since the other cambers have the spring and bottom pin. But all the pins don't need to be picked when they are over the 4th pin position.
Hope this makes sense :)

or the spring may be broken , if you can tip the lock upside down and see movement you'll get a little clarity

I think femurat has it right because it happens in all of that particular type. I'm not sure if it's one that you sent, Mort--I got some from Jeff as well.
