Re: Super 7 Pin Practice Lock Has Spool & Serrated Pins For

Hey guys!

First off I want to apologize to MrWizard for not writing this until now. I bought this lock over 2 months ago and have been meaning to write a little review ever since! Anyways, the lock is incredible and Richard is awesome to deal with! I ordered the lock direct from him through this site using paypal and the process couldn't have been faster or easier. I think I paid for it around 6pm and MrWizard had it in the mail that same night!! From the time I bought it to the time I had it in hand was maybe 3 days! Now I am sure that timeline will vary depending on how far you are from him but I can say that his service is awesomely prompt and his communication was great too.

Just a little bit about the lock... It is an amazing practicing tool. It is an incredible thing to be able to isolate your weaknesses. Whether it is spooled or serrated pins or just challenging bittings, the ability to remove a pin and place it back with ease makes learning the art of lock picking more systematic, which was paramount for me personally. Another challenge is that the keyway is restrictive and forces you deal accordingly which was another thing I desperately needed practice on. All the pins and springs are great quality and I haven't even touched the master pins yet! This is an awesome product and the price is really great too! Thanks again Richard!!

Here is an awesome write up by GWiens2001. It has pictures of everything you get when you order the lock.

I got one of these a lil while ago, it's an awesome practice lock...
If ur a newb you should def. get one, my skills went way up after getting more hands on and progressively set the pins in more difficult combinations...

Thanks Mr. Wizard it's a great product you've got...

I received this about a week ago and can't believe how much it helps. Before this I had to look at key bitting when I bought a lock so I could change up what I was comfortable with. Now I can just switch the stacks as I want quickly and with a specific arrangement. It also helps me learn how to tell pin depth by adding stacks incrementally. Amazing product for the beginner!

Santa Claus was good to me this year. Under the tree was a 7 pin lock with lots of lovely assorted pins and a SouthOrd PXS-14. I've been picking like crazy, damn I hate spool pins with a passion.

Awesome! Have Fun! You will get the feel for the spools. I like locks with spools, they give a lot more feedback then serrated.

Great lock, I've been messing around with the spool pins and I've found the further down the stack line I put the spools ( stack 5, 6, 7) the harder it is to feel the pin and it takes much longer to pick them, I love it. I need to work on my technique a bit more.

How are sales going, Mr. Wizard? Things pick up or slow down during the holiday season?
