The control keys are 7 pin but the #7 position is cut to a 6 depth.

Do you know if that applies to Primus Schlage LFIC, too? I have a Primus LFIC that I was hoping to progressively pin, and while it did come new with 2 keys, they were both change keys, no control key. I am tempted to take one of the keys to make a Primus tension wrench to get the core out.

It's the same for all Schlage LFIC. They take the 7 pin control key.

Mr. Wiz:

"OK! How do you take such perfect pictures??

How about posting your obvious photography skills."

I ask again, what setup do you use to get such great pictures? We all post pictures now and then, and some are not very good. Your guidance would improve the site and might even be worthy of a new sticky on photography.

Thanks.

Well this thread has certainly derailed and trainwrecked.

I'm no expert photographer, but taking good macro photos is a combination of 3 things:

Lighting, the ability of your camera to focus for macro shots, keeping the camera absolutely still

My webcam sucks for very close macro shots, but it is decent enough. I struggle the most with lighting, it really annoys me when locks or keys reflect light and create a lens flare.

Didn't mean to get so far off track Xeo, but that first pic of the cylinder is so perfect that Wiz must be using a light box with a good quality camera. I would love to see a shot of his setup so I could improve my photos. When I use a flash I get reflections and when I don't the pictures turn yellow from the poor quality house lighting.

Re: Super 7 Pin Practice Lock Has Spool & Serrated Pins For

Getting the perfect picture is very hard to do. Steady camera and good lighting is essential. Most of all a good camera that has excellent macro ability is a must have. The camera I use is a old Sony with excellent macro with 10x optical zoom. Same camera the local phoenix police used forever for their forensics shots. And you will find it even more interesting this camera's maximum mega pixel capability is 1/3rd pixel yes that is not a type-o it is 1/3r of 1 pixel. This makes the pictures very light on email attachments and web page image loading makes it perfect for forum use. The best thing I can tell you is take many many pictures of the same thing until you get just what you want. Then if need be use a simple picture editor to crop, change exposure, contrast, sharpen or degassed if it has a lot of digital noise then resharpen it again. I am a over the top perfectionist and am never happy with my pictures but do the best I can with what I have. I have a excellent new Panasonic with huge mega pixel rating and 12 times optical zoom I never use it as this Sony works fine for internet image uploads.

Wiz:

I'll bug you just one more time - promise.

What do you do re light? Normal flash or some other lighting? The thing about your pictures that impresses me is the quality of the lighting: no flash reflection, no yellowing from room light - just nice white even lighting. There are slight shadows evident but otherwise your lighting is perfect. Normally to get this quality a photographer would use a light box or some other apparatus.

You see no flash anomaly as I NEVER use a flash.
All you get is something you don't want when you use a sudden flash of light.

Super 7 Pin Practice Lock Has Spool & Serrated Pins Updated

Updated:

I am upgrading this package to include 2 sizes of security top pins. Before it had 7 each of one size spool and one size serrated top pins .200 in length.

The improved package will now include 8 spool and 8 serrated.
The new package will have 4 x .200 and 4x .170 spool pins and 4x .200 and 4x.172 serrated pins.

This is being done so you can use the long .200 length for short bottom pins for cuts 0 thru 5 and the .172 for the longer bottom pins cuts 6 thru 9. Also you will want to use the shorter length when adding master pins.

I felt this improvement would be a nice upgrade to make this package the best it can be.
