where are you buying your cylinders? everything we get in from Ilco is China or India :( maybe the longer cylinders are still US made?

Re: Improved Mr Wizard's Super Max 7 Pin Practice Lock Kit

I have one of these practice locks, which are made in the USA. They are quality pieces of work which are great for progressively pinning locks, increasing your skill and experience.

Most other locks are made with cheaper locks from other places, and many don’t come with the same number of normal pins and security pins. And some come with wide open keyways that don’t really give an experience like what you are likely to come across in the real world.

Both me and my son have used it, and it really can help if you are having difficulties. Mr Wizard includes instructions, and he even will help with questions and guidance after the sale. He believes in service.

They even make great gifts!

Re: Improved Mr Wizard's Super Max 7 Pin Practice Lock Kit

I've bought a couple, and I had used them extensively when developing and testing picks. I personally recommend these practice locks. If you want to see the difference between these and the cheap cores, load up one of these and a GMS core with standard pins and the GMS core will be much easier to pick.

Re: Improved Mr Wizard's Super Max 7 Pin Practice Lock Kit

This practice lock gives me a challenge every time I re-pin it.
It's an awesome lock if you want to go from begginer to an advanced picker. If you pin it up just right, it gives even a veteran picker a challenge!

Great lock!

Re: Improved Mr Wizard's Super Max 7 Pin Practice Lock Kit

I got this about a week and a half ago (Registered just to get it, in fact) and have only good things to say.

The lock itself is very easy to repin, and it comes with enough standard, spool, and serrated pins (In two sizes each) for any configuration you could want. It also includes plenty of keypins and spare parts, and a nice grid tray to organize them all. I can confirm the lock itself is stamped with "MADE IN USA" also.

The driver pins I received are also higher quality than I've received with other practice locks - they've got nice flat ends, where others I've received have a slight taper on each end, making these ones just a bit tougher.

I particularly like that it can be pinned with up to 7 pins - it's the only lock I have right now that can go that high.

I've had a lot of success with progressive pinning, and look forward to a lot more use.

MrWizard's also been helpful post-purchase answering plenty of questions I had and providing additional information about everything I received.

Thanks!
