Re: cross pick keys - video / demo

Every crucifix or cross style lock I have ever tried to pick opened very easily with a cross pick. Its great becuase the tensioner is all built into the pick. I think it is due to the sloppy tolerances usually involved with this style of lock and the limited range in pin variation. I have only needed it 1 time for a steering column guard, but it got the job done in no time.

Re: cross pick keys - video / demo

In the US I have only heard it referred to as a cross lock, because it was a popular lock brand for steering column locks in the US for pick-up trucks a while back. I have never seen that style lock on anything else.

A quote from Greymans excellent book

Cruciform locks, from the Latin word "crux" meaning "cross." ;)

I could call a Milled key a "long pointy" too. Still wouldn't be correct.

These are Star Keys. This is a cross pick, me's thinking. Just to throw a hand grenade in (woohoo)

Bumping old topics is eye-stab-worthy.

Don't make me stab your eye.
