Look who's talking. You are the one who whittles down the 'pins', flywheel! :D

Re: Kwikset Reloaded

 Well, this has turned into an interesting discussion.

What's next? Some Haiku maybe? Seems like a good a topic as any for it. LOL
This forum HAS been known to have spontaneous Haiku-Pop-Ups from time to time.

Flywheel... those pin-n-pins you created not long ago were insane! Don't send me any! lol
I know you showed interest in receiving a lock loaded with some of these trampolines. I will
eventually do that if you're still interested when the time comes. At this point I haven't really
produced enough to even fill a lock, let alone truly experiment with them. And, as I said, this
is a slow going project. I'm currently pursuing several different interests. But I won't forget.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
TWSS

A lock or bag full of your crazy creations. I'm really hoping you cover your pin making tools and techniques. The pins you've made are second to none. After seeing your results everyone who has tried pin modification now has a serious case of pin envy! All you need now are bigger pictures to show them off.

Re: Kwikset Reloaded

Well, I'll tryn' include some bigger photos next time IF I can get my camera to focus.

The biggest problem, as I'm sure you already know, is to get a pin
chucked in and spinning true with little to no wobble. It's a real bitch.
So far, I've found no good solution to this other than trial and error.

But yeah, next time I post on this thread, it'll either be a Haiku (lol)
or some explanations & pics of how I've been going about it so far.

Re: Kwikset Reloaded

Mike - I'd be really interested to know what tools you used to shape those pins once you had them chucked up - some of the the cuts seem sharper & narrower than could be achieved with needle files.

As for haiku :

flywheel made these pins
naughty bucket for this lock
the pins will not set

flywheel said the balls
were castrated from the lock
but the balls just dropped

Re: Kwikset Reloaded

Our first brave Haiku contestant! lol

Mark, when I post here I'll do my best to illustrate what I've been up to.

And yes, they are needle files I'm using. Unfortunately I can't just tell
you where to go and what to buy. These are 'oldschool' files.
Ya know, a time when things were still made with pride?

A shame I'm only in my early 30's having to say that, lol, but it's true.
