For those with the money needed. His tools look outstanding, but they are pricey. But if the money is available, I'd buy one.

Quick update, here are a couple of pictures of one of the Abloy Classic High Profile picks. In particular, this is the profile used on the 656 US military locks.

Here I am demonstrating the picks ability to fit around this type of profile. The position of it can vary from low (in this picture) to high (around 1 o' clock):



Here is the tensioner going round more profile warding :



Again, the 'lump' on the profile can vary in position within this group, hence the wider gap milled out on the tensioner.

Regarding the cost of them, I make very, very little from selling them at all...maybe this is why the only other alternative is more than double (or make your own, of course). Also, I am always open to offers/trades etc.

Just amazing man. I am speechless. All of your work over the years can easily be seen in each tool.

Always a very satisfying moment. I could tell the tool was working but it is only when it opens the lock that you can say for sure!

It is similar to the one in my previous post but not quite the same; the bumps are slightly shifted about. When I talk about 'profile groups' I refer to this type of thing.

No worries, the Abloy Classic pick represents a lifelong ambition for me, so sharing it is a pleasure!

I wish I could post about what this evolved into but I don't want to risk a repeat of the tool de-cloaking that went on before. If you want then shoot me a PM.

The latest incarnation:



So now all the parts are standardised so everything is easier and quicker to make. I improved the clicker and now the pick has changeable ends (3 of them). This is to cater for locks of different numbers of discs (7,10 and 11). Keeping the tension on the front handle make this possible and it also keeps the positive locating guide.

When I say changeable ends, I do not refer to the pick itself, rather the front handle. The idea is the tensioner/pick arm should never need to be adjusted (which can be a PITA)...all you do is unscrew the 2 brass screws on top of the front handle (visible in the pic) and put a different end on.

Woohoo! Making this tool was always an ambition and making it onto Toool's Blackbag was certainly another!

I have 2 questions. If you have evered used Jaakko's tool to open an ABUS, does the friction suddenly go away when you have a disc's true gate in the correct position under the sidebar while picking an Abloy with your pick? and when only 1 disc is keeping the Abloy lock still locked, does the tool give some rotation on the tension ring, or is it all or nothing in terms of a slight rotation?
