Will using my swiss no.2 on a pick hurt the file?

The title pretty much sums it up. I bought one of those Southord jack knife pick sets a while back (not super useful, like a lot of others have said) and I was disappointed in it because it has a long hook but no short hook. I got a replacement long hook and I want to file it down a bit and put that in instead of the key extractor, which I feel like I'm never going to use. I'm hesitant, though, because I don't want to use the file on something this hard if it wasn't meant for that and will damage it as a result.

Also, can anyone recommend an inexpensive file card online?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Jack

Here's a link for file cards. http://www1.mscdirect.com/eCommerce/Nav ... N=12100198

Use the file. It's hard, too.
