If he does he hasn't posted it here. The thing about making picks is that pretty much everybody has the same process, it's the design, material choices, and attention to detail that make picks like these really special. A video couldn't really show all that detail without being way too long and repetitive. You're still kind of in luck though, look here.

Violaetor you have some beautiful equipment there.
(does that sound gay?)
I should have never looked at these. Now I look at my southord gear and I feel like a cave man.

No problem at all. His picks are spread across a few threads, you may not have seen them all. Click on his forum sig for his Flikr account, I think that has them all.

This one has a burl handle (not sure of the exact origin) untreated, just buffed to a luster.

I like the buffed finish and the pick tip. I'm not sure how ergonomic the handle is... are those notches for your fingers? Do you have a picture with the pick in hand/in use?

Thanks :-)

They look decorative, the way I hol a pick I wouldn't even be touching the grooves. Maybe with the side of my thumb but nothing substantial.

Vio, that thing looks badass man. I like how much your designs change, variety is good.

Thanks all for the nice comments... take over the world, do you know something about an apocalypse that you should be sharing, Oldfast? Should we be reviewing or bug out bags and exit strategies?

Anyways nothing fantastical, but this set seems to be popular.

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

wow  nothing fantastical you say?!?! If those aren't absolutely amazing, I don't know what is...... I love the color and look of the handles, not to mention the actual pick tip looks like it'll intimidate any lock into opening up right away. The angled curve at the tip of your hooks are cool, they're different than most hooks i've seen.

Great work as always. I think I first saw your picks after doing a search on Flickr for lockpicks, then discovered that you were a member here as well. That was probably right about the time I joined the forum.
