This brinks 5pin padlock to me around 2hrs - all by hand !
This was a tricky padlock to pick & had 4 spool and 1 regular pin.
I did notice that there was a long thin bar with a spring around it ( in the bottom photo) - This must be an alternative to using ball bearing to prevent the shackel from being shimmed.
Tools used hacksaw & a coulple of hand finles

cool hand made cutaway. I did a cutaway on an abus lock once and it has those weird little bars with springs also.

Did you remove the pins and springs before filing away? If yes how did you locate and remove the pin stacks? If no then how did you avaoid damaging the pins and springs?

Nice job UK! I've been meaning to do this with a 140 that I've already taken the pins out of anyways.
It seems every Brinks I've ever encountered has the standard driver in position 2. Yours is no acception I see.
Thanks for sharing that. Will there be more cutaways to come?

i just filed away untill i see a opening in the pin stacks, filled away some more & damaged all springs  Then i filed in between each pin stack and replaced with new springs :D
I filed to much on the 1st & 2nd pin stacks so the pins & springs pop out :(
but 3rd 4th & 5th are fine :D

Am i going to make any more ? yes i am it was good practice  this is about what i expected with my 1st real attempt
Im hoping the next one will be better & no pins or springs pop out
It only took 2hrs - i might take the next one over a coulpe of days & really take my time over it :salute:
