First real attempt at Home Brew Pick

Ok, so I've made a couple crap picks out of sweeper blades about a year ago that never really panned out, here is my first official attempt and it's not complete yet, but I'm putting it up so far. It's made out of drain snake and I used a flat and round file and 180 grit sandpaper on it, it's all I have, no template, no dremel no grinder I feel it's decent for a first attemp and I'm still shaping it a little, the best I can could use some rougher sand paper for the shaping thats for sure. Comments welcome, advice more welcome!!! Was kinda going for a reach pick, nothing fancy.

WolfSpring,
That looks quite nice! I think I like the spot towards the front of the pick to get some leverage with your finger. Have you tried to pick anything with it?
Great job!

Yeah I kniced the front with the file while shaping it, it's thing but not to thin, it's a strong metal and amazing to work with, props to elbow for suggesting drain snake. Havn't tried to pick anything yet, it's a reach so no good use yet, but I'll try and pick something when it's finished. Got a lot more shaping to do and will put a heat shrink handle on it tommorow, took me 2 1/2 hours of hand fileing and 30 mins of sanding just to get it here... Thanks for the comments.

After a little more sanding and shaping, still not happy with the overall shape but the feedback and functionality of the pick is great. Just a cheap heat shrink handle over it. Again this is just a reach pick not meant for everyday picking, I figured I didn't have a decent one with my kit havn't ever had a real use for one and I did this free hand with the files. I know it needs a little more sanding. Sanded down to .027" right now working for .025" but could use a little coarser sand paper and some finer for the details only have 180 grit. Not the prettiest but it gets the job done.

Plier marks technically, from a Gerber multi tool, get it nice and hot and use the teeth to squeeze them in
