Re: Lockpicking Tool Templates

Personally, so long as we don't render the images and remove copyrights, there's really nothing in the wrong. Google holds many different results, and there's no way you can really honor everyone, especially if they don't even honor themselves to begin with. It's not like we're specifically taking it and being assholes. We are keeping any images in their original form and fashion, and most of them already gives props to their rightful owner.

thats the thing about this site. there is not really a "protected area" for information. there is just an area for the team to make decisions on things like new additions to the site, and competition details/judging and all that.. but there's no information really being held. everything is out in the open for anyone who is a member of keypicking (woohoo)

Re: Lockpicking Tool Templates

hey locksyth,
your bump key temps are sweet... im a bit confused tho... i understand the spacing from one cut to the next, to the center... but how far left and right would cut on my key machine to get your specs.

Thanks! (woohoo)

Re: Lockpicking Tool Templates

Whatever is thought best is good for me. I would note that the diy templates exist on Lockpickology.Since the same names are involved with that site,I had not thought it would be a problem. I wanted to help, but I kinda feel like I shot the dog. If we get cleared I have more to put up.

TACEDACEUS?-standard cuts for the blank shown. Space and depth charts would let you know,or you can measure spacing on an existing cut key. I don't know off the top of my head. You'd think I would. HMMMMM.

Re: Lockpicking Tool Templates

Each key has a "profile". If that's the right term. It's just a diagram that shows the shape of the cut and the width at the root. Here is one for SC4 and you can see the root is .059 wide at the bottom. Kwikset is .079 wide.

Re: Lockpicking Tool Templates

I have a few templates but not sure whether to post them or not.
I’m unfamiliar the DIYTDS templates you are all talking about.
What did they look like as he has taken his site down.

Hope this one is okay:
