some picks

Here are some picks I have made. The handles are anodized aluminum. The steel is spring steel.
Top one was a gift for a friend. The next two were made for my friend's dad, who is a locksmith.

Rough them out on the band saw, then belt grinder, then hand file any concave parts, then smooth everything with a small hand held belt grinder, then hand sand.

If you really wanted to, you could do it all with hand files.

Those are indeed gorgeous. I'd be afraid to use them in case they break. Their awesome. Chuck them in a display cabinet haha.

No way. I make them to be used. I make plenty of things that just sit on display, but I want the tools I make to be used.

Maybe eventually. I'm not good at following through with that sort of thing. I told someone on LP101 I would do an anodizing tutorial a couple months ago. I did most of it but never finished.

All I can promise for now is that I will take photos next time I make a pick.

Yeah I posted the light blue one when I first started picking. It was the first one I made.
I am making some picks now and taking pictures as I go, so maybe I will post something about making them.
