Partially complete picks

Hi,

I thought I'd discuss my pick making process. I have numerous picks, but I've found it useful on occasion to have partially completed picks about. Most of the work is done, and only final shaping and finishing is required, which saves time.
This batch is made from 25 thou and 16 thou Starrett stock. I use snips to cut the general shape, then use the bench grinder to refine the shape. A second pass brings the shape closer to what I want. Once I'm close, I use a file to do the final shaping and remove burrs. I sand with 600 grit sandpaper, and I'm mostly done. I'm sure I could work on the picks further with 1200 for a better finish, but 600 finished picks work fine.

Here are some early stage picks - they've been cut to shape and some rudimentary shaping has been done.

Here they are after some more shaping, plus an almost finished pick.
