Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

violator,
those american padlocks abuse picks by causeing the finish on the lower edge of the pickshaft to get some roughness from the sharp edge of the drill breaker.
you can protect your pick by slipping a small length of cocktail straw over it to buffer that sharp edge,
or maybe we can think of some other way to buffer that sharp hardened edge
think about it,
you may have a new insite

perhaps a plastic insert to the drill breaker that might even reduce the difficulties that these locks present.

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

Thanks for all the compliments!

Had this sitting around the shop so I put a bit of work into it, not perfect but I shined it up. Aluminum with brass rivets.

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

Got my babies in the mail today! Immediately "Violaeted" 3 locks! Actually, my 6 pin Sargent cylinder saw them and opened up without a battle.

Folks, they feel like gold in your hands. Incredible workmanship.... I HIGHLY recommend Violaetors work!

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

I've made a few since the last and... completely forgot to take snaps before shipping them out, however, not being completely absent minded.

Can't remember for sure, but I think you were talking about the yellow/black, Oldfast... here it is, if it was someone else [insert witty comment].

Thanks for all of your support!

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

I don't recall if I ever said anything, or if it was someone else. But when I had seen the blue/black combo...
I do remember thinking a yellow/black would be cool. AND IT IS!!! What an insanely nice contrast! I LOVE it.

Been putting alot of thought into exactly what to order from you. Still not sure, but I know I look forward to it!

p.s. KILLER placement & photogragpy as well :yep:

Re: Violaetor's Custom Lockpicks and Display Cases

I love those handles! The shape/design you use is very cool. I especially like the transition from steel to handle, very attractive. What is the approximate length of those picks?
