If there isn't already a thread for this, we should deff. consider making one for photography setups, hints, tips, and tricks. A lot of people in this particular hobby of locksport like to photo the pins and such. What do you guys think?
I'm just using my old digital Rebel XS and a cheap telephoto kit lens that came with it, 55-250mm f4 5.6. The light box I made doesn't look that great but when you adjust the white balance for it (or adjust it in adobe) the pics turn out pretty decent. It's not macro but I can get in close enough that all the detail shows pretty well.

Outstanding idea!...We will get it done.
Edit: Done. Thank you for the input.

This was a GREAT idea! There is now a forum in "Open Discussion" for "Photo tips, tricks, and suggestions"

Are you talking about the way you turn the lens to put it on or take it off? I agree, I used to shoot Minolta, and the Nikon lenses do turn the wrong way. After having a Nikon for over a year I still try to turn it the wrong way.

I was referring to the way you turn the focusing and aperture (if applicable) rings.

I wanted to post some photos of some other tools I have made. I love tools and I love making tools. These are both jeweler's hammers and I use both of them.
A chasing hammer,
ebony handle, ivory wedge.
A goldsmith's hammer,
kingwood handle.
