"reverse" spools?

found these in an old american series 2oo i am restoring.
i have seen these before on one of the other sites, but never seen them in actuality.
does anyone know the tech term for these?

I heard that these were a bitch, but once you learned to get them they wern't too bad. I heard that serrations gave more of a problem to inexperienced pickers more so then barrels.

not to bad to pick,definitely threw me off a bit,though.
at any rate heres the lock being picked.

they kinda look like that weird barrel pin that came out of that old master #3 that one guy had.

i'm not quite sure, but i have my suspicions that barrel pins were designed to thwart bumping attacks (i think they were incorporated in the newer american anti-bump locks, now made by masterlock). can anyone confirm this? has anyone bumped a lock with barrel pins?

I have bumped several trioving sec cylinders with 2 barrel pins and hardened pins inside.
Have never seen them in any other locks

ASSA use somthing very similar in there locks over here, usually the cuts are in different positions down the pin and differet size cuts, hope that helps.
