Re: First ever impressioned key!
Great job! The key looks good. Bet it felt great when the key turned a bit further than before and you realized that you had it.

Yes it is,and I feel that impressioning is a skill a wannabe locksmith should have.

Am not a locksmith, but have a number of friends who are. Walk into the shop when it is slow, and you will see them filling time by impressioning locks. It certainly is a skill an aspiring lockie should develop.
Keep at it! We have a number of threads on impressioning. Look them over - sometimes you will find some really good tips!
@fgarci - your impressioned lever keys look pretty good. As for your impressioned dimple key... did you have a rat chew the cuts while feeding the rat to your boa constrictor?

Nice job! I did my first one last week and my 2nd at Lockcon. It's a real orgasm moment, right? When the key turns?
I spent 70 odd minutes only for someone else to come over to say 'this is how you can get better marks by turning the key' only to turn it round 360 degrees!

Hahaha!
Nope, I gave it to my snake AFTER he chewed on the key!
I believe he learned the lesson... Never chewed anything after that!
Or.... Maybe because he turned into a white goo a couple days after I gave him to the snake, who knows

Would you care to elaborate on that last sentence?

The one about getting better marks? He was showing me turn left, wiggle up/down, turn left, right, left, wiggle, right, left, right, wiggle. But on his second turning part it opened.
Or did you mean the orgasm thing?
Re: First ever impressioned key!
Superb work Dennis! You've inspired me to impression my first key more quickly than I would have
Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly; Man got to sit and wonder, 'Why, why, why?' Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land; Man got to tell himself he understand.

Orgasms were never a big concern of mine ,so it was the marks showing up better. That's how I was able to get the marks for this key,as I had read that somewhere else.

Looks great and congratulations on the accomplishment!
